Frequently asked questions
Cape Tribulation is a beautiful and remote part of Tropical North Queensland, we understand that there may be some questions about how to get here or what to do if you need to cancel your trip. If we haven’t answered your question below, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
How do I get to Cape Tribulation?
Cape Tribulation is about 139km from Cairns Airport or about a 3 hours trip along the beautiful Tropical North Queensland coastline and through cane fields – that also includes a ferry over the Daintree River!
If you are coming from Port Douglas, it is a slightly shorter journey, allow yourself 2 hours to enjoy the drive and the ferry trip.
The ferry costs $26 one way for a car or $45 return. Please check the Daintree Ferry website for any updates and additional information. If you’re a pedestrian, it only costs $4 return!
Once you arrive on the other side of the river it is a relaxing 45 minute journey to Mist at Cape Tribulation through the Daintree Rainforest. Make sure you stop at the famous Mount Alexandra Lookout.
Upon booking, we will send you specific instructions via email on how to access our property.
Do you offer transfers to Cape Tribulation from Cairns or Port Douglas?
We feel that Cape Tribulation is a place that needs to be explored and the best way to do that is by hiring your own car. This allows you to visit many places at your own time and at your leisure without being in a rush. However, we are happy to recommend a limo service that has reasonable rates from Cairns or Port Douglas. Contact us.
What happens if I arrive late at night?
There is no need to worry as we will send you instructions on how to self-check-in via email upon booking, however, as we are onsite owners and managers, we have no issues personally checking you in, even late in the evening.
When is check-in and check-out?
Guests are welcome to check-in any time after 2pm and check out at 10am.
What’s included in my stay?
We do not have a restaurant on site as there are several restaurants and cafes in the area. We will send you a list of restaurants and cafes in the welcome email or you can check them out here.
